If you want a more automated cookie solution with automatic pre-scanning and updating of cookies, you can connect your Kvass website to Cookiebot – a well-known and widely used CMP solution (Consent Management Platform).
This guide shows you how to enable the integration.
Before you start
You need:
An account with Cookiebot (Cookiebot is managed outside of Kvass)
To have published the Kvass project / page under your desired domain
💡 Cookiebot scans your published website to find cookies. Make sure the site is live before running a scan.
Step 1 – Add the domain in Cookiebot
Log in to Cookiebot Manager.
Go to Domains & Aliases and add your domain.
Copy the domain group ID (CBID) for the next step.
4. Add the preview link from Kvass as an alias in Cookiebot
Under "Domain & Alias" in Cookiebot, enter the preview link for the project/page generated in Kvass. This is done to prevent Cookiebot from scanning the preview site, which could incur extra costs.
Click on the domain.
Scroll down to the section "Alias for testing".
3. Enter the preview link from Kvass.
You'll find the preview link in Kvass as follows: "Show" → "View site" → "View preview".
Step 2 – Enable the Cookiebot integration in Kvass
Go to Integrations under the project / page.
Find Cookiebot and install the integration.
Paste in your domain group ID (CBID) from your Cookiebot account.
Once the integration is enabled, the Cookiebot banner will load on your website instead of Kvass's built-in banner.
Step 3 – Set the language to your desired language
Go to Settings → Content.
Click the + (Add language) and search for your desired language.
Steg 4 – Klassifiser Kvass cookies
Websites built in Kvass generate cookies that are necessary for the website to function. Cookiebot is unable to qualify these correctly on its own, so you need to make sure they are classified manually.
In Cookiebot: Go to the "Cookies & Reports" menu item to see the cookies from the latest scan report (select the correct domain tab if you have multiple domains).
Scroll down to "Cookies and trackers found on your website".
Click into the cookies that have Category = Unclassified. Select the correct category and add a description for each of them.
Name | Cookie/Tracker purpose description | Category |
kvass.projectType | Used by Kvass to retrieve website data | Necessary |
kvass.project | Used by Kvass to retrieve website data | Necessary |
kvass.page | Used by Kvass to retrieve website data | Necessary |
_cfuvid | Used by Cloudflare to distinguish between individual users who share the same IP address, typically within corporate networks. This makes it possible to apply traffic and security limitations at the individual level rather than blocking entire IP addresses. | Necessary |
__cf_bm | Used by Cloudflare to distinguish between humans and bots, and to protect the website against automated attacks. Expires after 30 minutes. | Necessary |
Step 5 – Save and test
Save/publish the changes in Cookiebot.
Open your website in an incognito window to see the banner the way a new visitor sees it.
💡 Tip for full control: Right-click on the page → Inspect → Application → Cookies → your domain. This gives you a full overview of all active cookies.
